Our COVID-19 testing booth enables doctors to safely test and treat patients

Our COVID-19 testing booth enables doctors to safely test and treat patients

We spoke to Ananth Sagar, Business Development – Retail and E-Commerce, Sagar Asia Private Ltd to understand new products they’ve introduced to help industries maintaining hygiene and health in the post-covid scenario, other similar products they plan to introduce for the same, their focus area this year to help industries in managing occupational safety and health and how they plan to increase awareness about safety products in the current scenario.

Interviewed by Adeesh Sharma

1. What are the new products you’ve introduced to help industries maintaining hygiene and health in the post-covid scenario?

We are an aluminum extruder and fabrication company founded over four decades ago. We started as an aluminum industry and then we have ventured into aluminum scaffolding, fabrication of ladders, aviation or aircraft docking systems, aluminum doors and consoles. During this pandemic our design team worked to understand what international market was doing to help doctors. So, we have launched products for medical fraternity such as the COVID 19 testing booth. Doctors would enter the sanitization chamber/inside kiosk and test patients from within before treating the patient. It helps doctors to do more testing because before this kiosk there was not too much testing happening and not much safety for doctors. We took advice from medical fraternity and held trial runs with hospitals based in Hyderabad and after lot of feedback we launched the final product, which we also donated to a couple of hospitals. Telangana Govt encouraged us with testing of sample and we have also donated COVID-19 testing booth to both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Govts. We are also doing disinfection panel made of aluminum where a person passes through the tunnel and with fans or mist guns you get sprayed with disinfectant solution and you get your whole body sanitized.

2. What other products you plan to introduce for the same?

We are also doing a contactless aluminum sanitizing stand and we are doing contactless door opening machine were we have extruded a profile that can be brought to wooden doors or pasted to glass doors and you can pull and push with your leg. You don’t have to touch door handles. We are also doing a contactless aluminum pin to touch lift and ATM buttons, or when shopping for using swiping machines. It is like a keychain and can travel handy with you, fits in your pocket and replaces your finger.

3. What is going to be your focus area this year to help industries in managing occupational safety and health?

We are trying to persuade industries to use as many panels, sanitizing stands as possible with respect to our products. Within our industry we are ensuring our workers are wearing face shields and masks. We keep a lot of sanitizing stands for workmen. They don’t need to travel long distance by ensuring maximum availability of sanitisers closer to them and practicing lot of social distancing at workplace. We are also sensitising our dealers and distributors to follow hygiene measures.

4. How do you plan to increase awareness about your products in the current scenario?

We plan to leverage existing channel partners, sales, networks, social media marketing and we also ship a lot of products through ecommerce portals. We would also plan to participate in virtual expos to showcase our products and also working with lot of companies for their HORECA (hotels, restaurants and catering) program, such as Walmart, Amazon, etc to keep our products in their shopping cart. We are also looking at conferences, trade shows, and modern retail and ecommerce portfolios to promote. These are very difficult times and we are trying our level best to ensure maximum safety and awareness at our own premises and within our families and definitely we would request each to follow basic things as at this point of time we are the best people to protect ourselves, wear masks and maintain hygiene.
